A short film about a mother and her son, she teaches him life skills later on the son gets niked by a man so the young donkey can be his work slave and his mother saves him. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in partnership with the UCLA Film and Television Archive in 2013.

I did quite like the images of the mother gleefully braying as her young son managed to get water from an unwilling cactus and then befriend a floppy-eared white rabbit, but wasn’t really impressed with the standard of the drawing nor much about the rest of this story. Mum is trying to teach her offspring a few survival tips for life in the desert but when she takes a nap, he is lured away by a “Bluto”-esque prospect…
