A year after a supermoon’s light activated a dormant gene, transforming humans into bloodthirsty werewolves and causing nearly a billion deaths, the nightmare resurfaces as the supermoon rises again. Two scientists attempt to stop the mutation but fail and must now struggle to reach one of their family homes.

"Werewolves" squanders its potential. Rather than focusing on being the straightforward, dive in feet first, kick ass, action horror film we all wanted, what we get is mostly a hammy, syrupy, woke "drama" that's a genuinely painful watch. Action is in short supply and by and large, not especially well done. Creature effects are pretty uninspiring too, just adding to the sense of hopelessness, surrounding this product…

It's all about science to start, but things are starting to look promising for some horrific results. Moonlight is soon followed by madness and sheer acts of glorious violence, science vs. nature. For a science fiction story, it's filled with fun and excitement and with some yummy terror. It's an Absolutely Funtastic Thrill Ride...
