Overview

1822, a typical situation for those years: a tyrannical gentleman, like many noblemen who own estates and peasants, abuses his position. It's not worth anything for him to molest an involuntary beauty or have a groom flogged for the slightest offense. At the same time, the landowner is considered not good, not bad, but an ordinary representative of his class in the first half of the 19th century, except that the serfs dream of escaping from his power.
